The
NBC card isn't really a ticket, it was a free for all, involving
a long overnight queue for a good place. But the show took photos
of the audience and this card provided a code number to access
your photo on the web. Code only valid for 30 days. The A&E
was a competition via Bowienet to win tickets, which were collected
on the day.

Wish I were a Sailor,
crossing an azure sea.....

Due to the
fact that David doesn't like flying he chose to travel on the
QE2 from New York to England and back. Eager fans had cottoned
on to this, knowing that he hates flying so by checking out the
QE2 website and working out his tour dates figured that the journey
was easily possibly. Our suspicions were confirmed by his own
comment on Bowienet "I'm off the planet for six days",
as that is how long the journey takes. Camera and pens at the
ready, several keen Bowie-spotters paid a vigil at the QE2 docks
awaiting his arrival, along with the press.
Likewise,
when the tour was over, more of us stood inconspicuously in the
departure area, waiting to see him off. When his car pulled in,
he got out and signed a few autographs and was most gracious,
although didn't hang around long. Here are some photos of that
rendez-vous (and some fans and a boat):

We then went
up to the viewing gallery to see the boat depart. It was scheduled
to leave at 5pm but actually left just after 5:15pm! "5.15
Bowie has gone, no tickets, fans left ashore.........."
