David had never played in Fukuoka so there was a certain amount of anticipation in the audience,
a lot of excitement. The song order changed slightly for this show with Diamond Dogs again moving
up the set list to follow Scary Monsters.
At the end of Aladdin Sane David sang the "On Broadway" part with a melody similar to that of
Hello I Love You by the Doors. Gail also sang a line from Where Have All the Good Times Gone,
Bowie seemingly wasn't expecting this and laughed in surprise. After The Man Who Sold the World
the sound of a music box echoed around the room. It didn't give any clues of what song was about
to follow. It was actually A Small Plot of Land. David has opened this song in a few different ways
in Japan. Mike Garson played an accompaniment to it for a couple of minutes.
Strangers When We Meet was introduced in the style of an American DJ - "so this one.... this is
called "Strangers When We Meet". There was only one encore tonight and although My Death
featured on the set list it was not played. David cried "Bye bye Japan" at the end of All The Young
Dudes.
The end of Outside in Japan.
