The National Canine Defence League operate a scheme called "Sponsor A Dog" where people can pay £1 per week toward the upkeep of one of the many dogs in their care. The NCDL depend on valuable support like this to keep their centres open and as they vow never to put a healthy dog down, it is vital that this support continues.

As you may be aware, Bowieland suggested using £52 of the money raised at the party to sponsor a dog with the NCDL for the next 12 months. It's a somewhat more interesting way of donating money to the charity than just handing over a cheque and it also gives partygoers a reminder of how their generously donated money has been spent. Sponsors receive a certificate with a photograph of their sponsored dog and at Christmas and Valentines you get a card 'from your dog'. You also receive updates in the form of letters and photographs, the letters again written 'by your dog'.

All updates will be posted on Bowieland so everyone can keep an eye on Toby's progress and see how he is doing. Watch this space for the updates.
